About the Dads Club
Lake Magdalene Elementary (LME) has a great history and reputation of education. The school was created by the Hillsborough County School Board in 1906, and school records in the Lake Magdalene district date as far back as 1888.
The LME Dads Club formed in 1991 as a volunteer, non-profit group to benefit the students and faculty at Lake Magdalene Elementary. Our mission is to volunteer to make a difference in our children's education, whether sponsoring events for the students or making direct monetary donations to the school. The Dads Club traditionally sponsors the following annual events:
- School Picnic
- Fishing Tournament
- Bowling Day
- Miniature Golf Tournament
- Math Nights
- "Manafest" School Carnival
- Golf Tournament
- and the First Annual "Run for the Manatees" 5K Race & 1Mile Fun Run/Walk
In proud partnership with Lowry Park Zoo, the First Annual "Run for the Manatees" 5K & Fun Run is the LME Dads Club newest event to serve as enjoyment for the students, families and faculty, and as a bonding experience for the entire community. Proceeds benefit the Lowry Park Zoo Manatee Hospital and Lake Magdalene Elementary "Home of the Manatees". We truly hope this can become an annual tradition.
